The Women of Bachelor Season 25

If I am going to talk about the Bachelor and analyze its content it is important to know who the cast of characters is. I already talked about the main man himself, Matt James, in another post. If you have not read that I suggest you do. I go over a lot of the themes that I believe we will see front and center in this season. So without further adieu here are the ladies we will get to know this season. There are some spoilers of episode one here, but I will do a brief episode one wrap-up in another post.

Summary of the Women:

Abigail

Age: 25 Profession: Client Financial Manager Hometown: Beaverton, OR Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: She’s deaf. Matt James seemed to really like her from when she walked out of the limo. He said more than once, “She’s gorgeous.”

 

 

Alana

Age: 26 Profession: Photographer  Hometown: Toronto Canada  Entrance: Spaghetti ala Lady and the Tramp

Things of Note: I feel like we always have a few Canadians in the mix each season. Her entrance won her the technical first kiss of the season, however I take umbrage with her methods. Consent is important. It wasn’t the worst forced kiss on an entrance I’ve seen, but I am not sure that’s the first kiss our bachelor wanted to give out.

Alicia

Age: 24 Profession: Ballerina Hometown: NYC Entrance: Dancing

Things of Note: She wants kids. Talked a lot about being a perfectionist. I can understand that with her profession as well as being a violinist.

 

 

Amber

Age: 30 Profession: Nursing Student Hometown: Costa Mesa, CA Entrance: Rode in on a tandem bike

Things of Note: I kept forgetting who she was to be honest.

 

 

Anna

Age: 24 Profession: Copywriter Hometown: Chicago, IL Entrance: Gave Matt a Bachelor survival kit. I certainly hope it included a flask of scotch, he may need it.

Things of Note: She’s a bartender at night. Apparently being a copywriter doesn’t pay all the bills.

 

 

Bri

Age: 24 Profession: Communications Manager Hometown: San Francisco, CA  Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: She was really struck by Matt’s prayer at the beginning of the night. I would keep my eye on her as a potential front runner.

 

 

Carolyn

Age: 30 Profession: Journalist Hometown: Los Angeles, CA  Entrance: Gave him lavender from her mother.

Things of Note: Nothing much to note here.

 

 

Casandra

Age: 25 Profession: Social Worker Hometown: Newport Beach, CA  Entrance: Wore a football uniform.

Things of Note: I have a soft spot for mental health professionals who put themselves into any show like this. You’d think they have the potential to do well, but I’ve seen a distinct lack of emotional intelligence from quite a few of them. In either case, part of me was… rooting for her. Ya. She didn’t make it.

 

Chelsea

Age: 28 Profession: Runway Model Hometown: NYC Entrance: Normal… well.. I think I said, “Holy plunging neckline!”

Things of Note: She might be one to watch for a while. I think Matt will get distracted by her this season. I am not sure I see them making it all the way down the runway together.

 

 

Corrine

Age: 22 Profession: Marketing Manager Hometown: Pomfret, CT Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: I grew up in CT. I totally have even been to Pomfret. It is a really cute town, though there is little reason to go there. Pretty, but nothing to note. The town and the woman, we won’t be seeing more of her.

 

Emani

Age: 25 Profession: Realtor Hometown: Albuquerque, NM  Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: Nothing to note here.

 

 

Illeana

Age: 25 Profession: Health Food Developer Hometown: NYC Entrance: Fed him her balls… her meat balls.

Things of Note: A way to man is through his stomach! Not sure how I feel about being fed balls, but it seems to work.

 

 

Jessenia

Age: 27 Profession: Social Media Marketer Hometown: San Antonio, TX Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: Nothing specific here. She seems nice enough, we shall see how things go here.

 

 

Kaili

Age: 26 Profession: Hostess Hometown: Chicago, IL Entrance: Wore lingerie in while dragging several gowns for him to choose from on a rolling rack. Many women were not pleased by this. I say go her, she rocked her confidence.

Things of Note: She didn’t make many friends with her entrance. I say there is a high probability of drama surrounding her in the future.

 

Katie

Age: 29 Profession: Bank Marketing Manager Hometown: Renton, WA  Entrance: Brought her vibrator with her…. I should make an entry for MJ the vibrator as she was ultimately named. She is absolutely a character in this show at this point. The black square of family friendliness revealed that ABC can’t show a vibrator on television it seems.

Things of Note: Matt James had some lovely lightsaber puns for this. I absolutely approve of this type of humor.

 

Khaylah

Age: 28 Profession: Healthcare Advocate Hometown: Durham, NC Entrance: Pickup truck

Things of Note: She really brought his hometown to him. There is a lot of power in relating to someone’s origins. She really did a good job with this and I anticipate she will be an early favorite moving forward. She won’t be forgotten.

 

Kimberly

Age: 28  Profession: Airline Recruiter Hometown: Seattle, WA Entrance: Threw a fish at him

Things of Note: I may have forgotten who she was partway through the evening. So did Matt it seems.

 

 

Kit

Age: 21 Profession: Fashion Entrepreneur Hometown: NYC Entrance: Arrived in a very expensive car

Things of Note: She said her name means Keep In Touch… um… She feels young. She feels like she either comes from money or wants to. I feel like she was possibly framed to be an issue in the future, but part of me feels like this won’t become a thing. She is young though. I think this will come up at some point either from the women in the house or in the back of Matt’s mind. Her NYC themed gift was pretty good though. She and the queen are going to bump heads.

 

Kristin

Age: 27 Profession: Lawyer  Hometown: Virginia Beach, VA Entrance: Made a bad lawyer pun. I’m here for puns.

Things of Note: Looking back at my notes I see I had “Super Cute!” Written down. So apparently she’s that. While I am writing this I can’t remember anything else.

 

 

Lauren

Age: 29 Profession: Corporate Attorney Hometown: Miami, FL  Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: I didn’t take any notes here, so I can only assume there was nothing of note so far.

 

 

Magi

Age: 32 Profession: Pharmacist Hometown: Ethiopia Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: Her accent is great. I think she’s really interesting, though I have a feeling that she isn’t ultimately going to fill his prescription.

 

 

Mari

Age: 24 Profession: Marketing Director Hometown: Puerto Rico Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: He was struck speechless upon her entrance. They seemed to have a good connection.

 

 

Marylynn

Age: 28 Profession: Event Coordinator Hometown: Studio City, CA Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: Nothing particular to note.

 

 

MJ

Age: 23 Profession: Hairstylist Hometown: Hudson, Ohio  Entrance: Pizza Delivery Car

Things of Note: She wins the prize for locking herself out of the pizza car. Adorably awkward entrance, but I liked it. She had the unfortunate luck of the vibrator being named after her after she asked if it had a name.

 

Pieper

Age: 23 Profession: Graduate Student Hometown: Happy Valley, OR Entrance: Made a joke about her last name being James already

Things of Note: She was featured early before the women arrived so it makes me believe she might be a thing for a while.

 

 

Rachael

Age: 24 Profession: Graphic Designer  Hometown: Cumming, GA Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: She really reacted to the initial prayer. Also she talked a lot about having her guard up. In the season who is about vulnerability this is either going to result in her being a person to watch or a person who won’t go very far.

 

Saneh

Age: 25 Profession: IT Consultant Hometown: Denver, CO Entrance: Wore goat slippers. She was super comfy.

Things of Note: I’ll admit it, I was rooting for her. I really liked the goat slippers. She seemed interesting. I wanted her to go further so we could learn more about her. Sadly she wasn’t the GOAT.

 

Sarah

Age: 24 Profession: Broadcast Journalist  Hometown: San Diego, CA Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: She is someone to watch. She is career focused and talked a lot about her experience with family. The way she acted as a caregiver to her father will be a positive for her. The body language between these two was really great too. I believe she has potential.

 

Serena C.

Age: 24 Profession: Flight Attendant Hometown: San Francisco, CA Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: As soon as they introduced her as Serena C. I said to myself, “Oh there are multiple Serena’s of all names to duplicate.” And low and behold here we are the only name duplication of the season.

 

Serena P.

Age: 22 Profession: Publicist Hometown: Toronto, Canada Entrance: Brought in a step stool so she could be the same height as him.

Things of Note: I loved the step stool. It was a super cute idea. I think she has potential. I wonder if the Canadians will get along or will they battle it out to be the last Canadian standing? I assume they are both really pleasant people actually.

 

Sydney

Age: 28 Profession: Marketing Specialist Hometown: Nashville, TN Entrance: Normal

Things of Note: Nothing particular of note here.

 

 

Victoria

Age: 27 Profession: Queen Hometown: Los Angeles, CA  Entrance: Presented herself as a queen.

Things of Note: Um… Awkward.. she’s a bit strange. You know when you meet someone and you just say to yourself there is something off about them? She does that for me. It’s so absurd that I wonder if she is a plant from the TV show. Are people really like this? Of course he kept her too. Really who keeps this person over the GOAT? Maybe one day we will learn what she really does outside of being royalty.
